Designing a home — whether it’s a renovation, an addition, or a ground-up build — is personal. And the process should reflect that.
My job is to listen first, then bring clarity, creativity, and a dose of practicality to the table. I’ve spent decades designing homes that are both deeply functional and quietly beautiful, and I’ve learned that the best results come from a process that’s simple, collaborative, and grounded in trust.
Here’s how you and I will get there, step by step.
Efficient, accurate coordination with lifelike 3D renderings that bring your future home to life.
From first sketch to final touches, I’m fully engaged every step of the way.
25+ years designing custom homes across the Pacific Northwest.
Every project starts with a conversation. I’ll meet with you to understand your goals, priorities, budget, and site conditions — whether we’re reimagining an existing structure or starting from scratch. This is where we establish the project’s scope, explore initial ideas, and determine what’s possible. You’ve been dreaming about it. This is the first step toward making it real.
Here is where the fun begins — sketching, modeling, and exploring ideas together. I encourage you to bring inspiration to these conversations, including photos, notes, rough sketches, or anything else that helps capture your vision. We’ll talk through your goals, preferences, and how you want the space to feel. From there, I’ll begin to translate those ideas into sketches and 3D renderings — so you can see how it all comes together, long before construction begins.
Once we’ve landed on a clear concept, we’ll start refining the design. Floor plans get cleaned up, finishes and materials come into play, and I collaborate with your interior designer — or bring in mine — to help us dial in how it will all come together. This is where your home starts to take shape and where the magic of both function and beauty starts to emerge. Our 3D renderings also begin to take on a photorealistic quality as we zero in on the finer details: materials, fixtures, lighting, and more.
Before we submit for permits, we’ll get preliminary pricing from a trusted builder to ensure the design is aligned with your budget. This phase bridges big ideas and practical execution, keeping everything on track and helping to avoid expensive surprises later.
While the city reviews your permits, I’ll finalize the construction drawings — detailed, buildable plans that ensure the contractor knows exactly what to do. These are comprehensive and tailored to real-world execution.
Once the build is underway, I stay involved to help things run smoothly. That includes weekly site meetings, answering contractor questions, reviewing shop drawings, and making decisions when things come up (which they always do). I’m here to make sure our design intent stays intact from start to finish.
As construction concludes, we’ll make sure every detail aligns with the vision — from final walk-throughs to coordinating with your builder or interior designer if needed. I’ll help resolve any punch-list items, make sure the space feels just right, and celebrate the transformation with you. After all, the real goal is a home you’re proud to live in.
