Mercer Island, Washington

A minimalist lakefront getaway designed for effortless entertaining, tranquil afternoons, and seamless connection to the shoreline.

THE VISION
With their main home tucked high above the shoreline, the owners dreamed of spending more time down by the lake — without the constant uphill trek for food, drinks, and supplies. Their goal? A welcoming, functional structure right at the water’s edge, perfect for spending long summer days outside, hosting family, and drinking in the beautiful lake views.

THE APPROACH
David designed a simple, low-profile pavilion that complements the surrounding landscape rather than competing with it. Inside, a full kitchen makes prepping meals easy — and it opens directly to the covered outdoor living and dining space, keeping everyone connected whether they’re inside or out.
